| View Enchanted (2007, Kevin Lima, 107 min.) What are the genre characteristics of the world Giselle from which hails? What are the characteristics of the film’s version of New York City “reality”? What happens when characters from two different ‘realities” interact? What is the importance of the perception of the young girl (Morgan Philip played by Rachel Covey) in considering the differences between the different realities? While the film is certainly poking fun at the old Disney myth, especially its happily ever after, what does Enchanted urge its viewers to consider? Also, it may be useful to work through some general interpretation of the film.Enchanted presents a large number of allusions to Disney films (visuals and listing), and also to The Sound of Music. Note “The Happy Working Song” which offers playful allusion to “Whistle While You Work" from Snow White.
